SurgMate at ECIO 2025 — Advancing Tumor Ablation Training Through Simulation Innovation

We’re proud to have participated in ECIO2025 (European Conference on Interventional Oncology) as an educational partner of the ESIR Team, showcasing our dedication to medical education through immersive hands-on simulation.

Held in Rotterdam, Netherlands, this international gathering brought together leading interventional radiologists, educators, and device manufacturers to explore the latest in minimally invasive tumor treatment.

SurgMate had the honor of supporting two full-day hands-on workshops at the ESIR booth (2nd Floor, Booth C7):
April 14 – Breast Tumor Ablation & Biopsy Training
April 15 – Thyroid Tumor Ablation & Biopsy Training

Each workshop featured expert-led sessions followed by open hands-on practice, allowing attendees to refine their skills using immersive simulators that replicate anatomical landmarks, ultrasound imaging, and device behavior.

Our platforms were designed to support:

.Ultrasound-guided puncture and ablation techniques

.Compatibility with all ablation probes (MWA, RFA, Laser ablation, cryoablation)

.Modular design to ensure repeatable and high-quality training for every user

.High-fidelity, immersive learning environments

These sessions offered an engaging opportunity for participants to explore ultrasound-guided biopsy and ablation techniques using our thyroid and breast training platforms.

We are especially thankful for the continued trust of the ESIR Team and the warm engagement from all workshop participants. Your feedback and enthusiasm fuel our passion to innovate in healthcare simulation.

Looking back at our journey from March’s ESIR course in Portugal—where our Thyroid Ablation simulator was featured by four energy device brands—to this moment at ECIO 2025, we’re reminded of the value of collaboration and continuity in training.

From product development to educational partnership, SurgMate is committed to bridging the gap between theory and clinical practice by creating simulation tools that are realistic, scalable, and globally accessible.

We look forward to deepening our collaborations and continuing to support evidence-based, hands-on learning for the global medical community.
